–Gift cards to Dollar Tree, Dairy Queen, Runza, Burger King, McDonalds, Walmart, Sonic, Pizza Hut, Arby’s, Jimmy John’s. (During the summer, small DQ blizzards are popular with all residents)
–DVD’s of classic and appropriate movies—or TV series
–Bird feed or suet, corn cobs for our bird feeders and twirl-a-squirrel (or monetary donation for such).
—Monetary donations for Lincoln Journal Star and Beatrice Daily Sun subscriptions.
—Monetary donations for monthly musical entertainment, usually about $50 per month.
—Monetary donations for craft and “Cooking with Cindy” projects.
—Monetary donations to help purchase fuel for our mini-van and Daisy van for appointments and outings for special events.
–Monetary donations the new tables and chairs for the dining room
–Monetary donations for outdoor flowers and garden beds
Personal or chapter checks to individual Residents or Employees,
for their personal use, is discouraged.
Adopt Programs … Send cards and gifts to the specific Resident or Employee at the Home – 413 North 5th Street, Beatrice, NE 68310-2902
- New Adopt form for 2024-2025 required by July 1, 2024. The new assignment year begins July 1, 2024 and ends June 30, 2025.
- Chapters may request a previous resident/employee, but name(s) cannot be guaranteed as they are assigned in the order the requests are received.
(Recommended to contact/send a little something four times per year—more if you like.)
–(BOTH Residents and Employees) Birthday or holiday cards/letters – lesser celebrated holidays—Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, May Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Halloween, etc.
–(BOTH Residents and Employees) Gift cards to Walmart, Dollar Tree, Dairy Queen, Runza, Burger King, McDonalds, Arby’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, Sonic
–(RESIDENTS) Husker items, favorite candies, flowers, puzzle books, etc.
–(RESIDENTS) Treat boxes that might include: NEW items only– small hand lotion, fragrance spray, pre-packaged crackers or candy—maybe holiday related, a Christmas ornament they could hang on a tree (there are SEVERAL in our Home, plus some have a small one in their rooms), a music CD (the Home does have small CD players)
–(RESIDENTS) Books (favorite authors, perhaps), picture books of photographs of landscapes, and other places in the U.S. and the world, crossword puzzles, sudoku, trivia, etc.
–(RESIDENTS) Small decorations (most of the residents DO hang a seasonal or holiday item on their the doors to their rooms)
–(RESIDENTS) Gift certificates for the P.E.O. Home Beauty Salon. NO expiration date!

Write check to P.E.O. Home for the amount of service(s) desired. A gift certificate will be delivered to the resident. Be sure to indicate the Resident!
–(EMPLOYEES) Employees can also use gift cards to: Casey’s (gas) for getting to and from work, many also enjoy their pizza and snacks as well, Subway, Scooter’s Coffee, Dollar General, Pizza Hut, Sonic, KFC, Taco John’s, Walmart, Arby’s, etc. Online ordering cards such as: Amazon
–(EMPLOYEES) Treat boxes—maybe associated with holidays—candy, fruit drink mixes for bottles of water, pre-packaged cookies, Cheez-it’s or other crackers, microwave popcorn packets, Ramen soup packets. For our female employees—NEW hand lotion, fragrance spray.
